Reinventing what social distanced performance can be, a pre-recorded film is presented to a live audience as an interactive online stream with a live ensemble.

This online adaptation of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill’s The Threepenny Opera embraces and extends the original work’s examination of capitalism into a larger interrogation of power structures and the systems maintaining them. Part film, part theater, part pre-recorded, part live, this production brings together a modern but timeless aesthetic with innovative technologies to breathe new life to the contradictions that made The Threepenny Opera such a groundbreaking achievement.
